FAST, COMFORTABLE CRUISING

The Lagoon 42 has been such a great success partly because of it’s great size… manageable but a good size to go off shore… but also because of its wonderful ergonomics and layout.

Once you go up the easy two entry steps you can enjoy single-level, indoor-outdoor living. The wide hulls give heaps of space for island double beds and also mean that speed is not compromised when you have a lot of people and gear on board.

The interior is also flooded with light – there are heaps of hatches on all Lagoons and the 42 is no exception.

Ergonomic helm station at the coachroof bulkhead, offers:

*direct communication between the cockpit and saloon *improved circulation, forward and aft of the helm station, *direct access to the coachroof for easier access to the boom *composite bimini with a sliding panel to ensure a good view of the sails * closure panel for helm station safety when under you’re way.

Mast further aft offers many advantages on a cruising catamaran:

*a self-tacking genoa for ease of use *a larger foretriangle for a greater choice of downwind sails, *a shorter boom for ease of manoeuvring *mainsail broader near the head, taking advantage of less turbulent wind for a real improvement in performance *re-centring of the weight, which greatly reduces pitching.

3 superb double cabins…

*island double beds for the aft cabins and beds with side access for the forward cabins *aft cabins benefit from a bathroom with a separate shower *very large windows in the cabins offer excellent illumination and magnificent views of the surroundings *vertical glazing in the coachroof provides saloon illumination: a well-lit, comfortable environment that is perfectly balanced between the galley and saloon areas *U-shaped galley, fully fitted with broad work surfaces and extensive storage space, is oriented towards the external cockpit.

Lagoon expertise

* infusion and injection moulding: weight saving, optimised structure and protection of personnel and the environment *interior joinery in Alpi® reconstituted timber to increase the longevity of the woodwork and contribute to sustainable development *vertical glazing: better sun protection, optimisation of space and headroom *gullwing bridgedeck: greater comfort in heavy seas *central beam housing the forestay fitting, the anchor davit and the code 0 sprit pole.
